Fun with viols

I have been a member of the viol group for about a year and have enjoyed it lots. We are a group of about 12 players on treble, tenor and bass viols.

Because the viol was popular in the reign or Henry VIII, we play music from the 15th-18th century. Today we played some tunes that we have played quite a lot previously and another tune- Mattachins – that I really like because it is very happy and fast.

I play the violin and at first found the viol a little difficult but now I’ve been playing a while it’s a lot easier.
